Harvey the Wonder Bunny
Pet rabbits are often consigned to a rabbit hutch in the back garden. However Harvey the Wonder Bunny has 24 hour run of the house and is 100% litter box trained. "He will do anything for a cuddle", says his owner, Karen. "He snuggles up in bed with us at night and wakes me each morning with a lick on the nose and a snuggle before running up and down the bed to wake me up!".

Harvey was rescued from his previous life in a hutch eating bread and being harrassed by dogs - he had even lost he eye during a fight with another rabbit. It didn't take him long to change from being laid back and aloof to confident and cuddly once he adapted to his new lifestyle. You can find more information on training and caring for a 'House Rabbit' here.

Email us your own pet story and we may include it one of our newsletters.

Pet Health

Whilst vets treat the physical health of your pet, they are not expertly trained in emotional health.

An Animal Behaviourist can help you with separation anxiety, disobedience, destructiveness, aggression and phobias. They can also help you choose a lifestyle-appropriate pet. Try Kate Mornement in Melbourne at Pets Behaving Badly or in Sydney, Dr Joanne Righetti at Pet Problems Solved. If you're in Sydney you can listen in to Dr Jo on radio 2UE (954AM) at 2:00pm Tuesdays for advice. Alternatively you may be able to find someone local through the Delta Society.
