Despite tough times, Melbourne pet owners will not be denied their annual Christmas Holiday break.
Lonely Pets Club, Melbourne's largest mobile pet feeding service, has recorded its busiest month ever, making 4778 visits to Members' homes between 15th December and 15th January.
According to Lonely Pets Club Director Justin Cofield, "We were unsure how people's travel habits would be affected by tightening household budgets. However, people still love to get away - but many are not travelling as far this year."
Lonely Pets Club made over 24,300 pet care visits over the last calendar year, which is an increase of 16% on the previous year.
Mr Cofield says "Our pet feeding service enables pet owners to travel with greater peace of mind, knowing that their pets are being well cared for in their own home environment. Many of our Members have said they are travelling more domestically and not internationally, which is great for the Australian economy".
